Simonas Nekrošius is a sound artist, an experimenter who creates, constructs and performs sound objects and sculptures in his performances. Characterized by DIY and Ready-made principles. The author is looking for non-traditional forms of sound extraction. He focuses on processuality, intuition, experimentation and improvisation. Since 2015 he is co-founder and operator of Studium P, an independent initiative and art project space.

Para – Greek for to, beside, from – the first part of compound words, indicating their presence near something, a deviation from something, a disturbance.

“Paraobjects is a live sound performance on homemade instruments, combining unconventional methods and principles of sound generation. “Paraobjects is an expression of fantasy and interpretation that unfolds in the author’s imagination as individual and associative formations, creating a certain narrative between the normal and the unconscious, the real and the absurd.

The absurd often provokes a reaction of rejection in society and defines the limits of perception. However, the author sees it as an opportunity to explore situations and objects, giving space to irrational, sensory cognition. The performance invites us to distance ourselves from the clichéd perception model and standard canons of music creation and to experience a new existence and the environment around us.
